The Shuttle bay is a piece of development, which is not seenable in a standard kit. well, not at 1:1400 and for sure not at the Enterprice-C.
I do oriented myself arround the Enterprise D. for sure we do know the Design for the Enterprise A but the bay on the Consitution Class is within the Flute.
The Enterprice C has also a bay there, too. however focussing on the upper bay means doing the Enterprise D style in a bit more Retro Style sounds okish.
When I started with the Voyager model last time, I was focussing on the build first and adjusted it several times. I believe to print a copy of the mold first, and see if it is fitting, makes it much easier.
Here we go – made the stuff in Blender after doing some measurements.
The mold is almost matching, could be a bit more different but it is alredy good enough.
